Description

Service background

EMC test is also called electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), refers to the electronic products in the electromagnetic field interference size (EMI) and anti-interference ability (EMS) comprehensive assessment, is one of the most important indicators of product quality, electromagnetic compatibility measurement by the test site and test instruments.

The purpose of EMC testing is to detect the impact of electromagnetic radiation generated by electrical products on the human body, the power grid in public places and other electrical products in normal operation.

Magnetic compatibility is a subject that studies that under the condition of limited space, time and spectrum resources, various electrical devices (including organisms in a broad sense) can coexist without causing degradation. It includes two parts: electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic sensitivity. Electromagnetic interference test is to measure the size of the electromagnetic wave signal generated and emitted by the device under normal working condition to reflect the strength of the interference to the surrounding electronic equipment. Electromagnetic sensitivity test is to measure the ability of the equipment under test to resist electromagnetic disturbance.

About:

Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC).
The EMC Directive is numbered 2014/30/EU and will come into force on 18 April 2014. The old EMC Directive 2004/108/EC will be repealed on April 20, 2016.

Electromagnetic interference

Radiation emission:

Electromagnetic interference propagating through space in the form of electromagnetic waves.

Conducted emission:

Electromagnetic interference that travels along a conductor.

2. EMS (Electro-Magnetic Susceptibility) — electromagnetic susceptibility test

The purpose of this test is to test whether the electrical products can work stably in the electromagnetic environment without being affected.

Main contents of EMS test:

ESD- static immunity test

RS- Radiofrequency electromagnetic field radiation immunity test

CS- Conducted disturbance immunity test for RF field induction

DIP- Immunity testing for voltage dips, short interruptions and voltage changes

SURGE- Surge immunity test

EFT- Electrical fast transient pulse group immunity test

PFMF- Power frequency magnetic field immunity test

Stray definition: Radiation at discrete frequencies other than carrier frequencies and sideband and adjacent channels due to normal modulation and switching transients when a standard test signal is modulated (i.e. far end radiation). Stray radiation can be divided into two types according to its source: conduction type and radiation type.

Conducted stray: refers to the level power of any discrete signal measured at the 50 ohm load at the antenna junction.

Radiation stray: Stray disturbance caused by the housing, structure and interconnect cables of the test equipment. The test conditions are preferred to be carried out in the anechoic room or outdoors.
