What does RoHS mean?
The RoHS certification is a mandatory standard formulated by EU legislation. Its full name is the "Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" (Restriction of Hazardous Substances). This standard has been officially implemented since July 1, 2006, and is mainly used to standardize the material and process standards of electrical and electronic products, making them more beneficial to human health and environmental protection.
The RoHS certification, that is, the European environmental protection directive, stipulates that all electrical and electronic products exported to Europe shall not contain the following six toxic and harmful substances: lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr+6), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). And it specifically stipulates that the content of cadmium shall not exceed 0.01%.
