RoHS Directive
RoHS 2.0: 2011/65/EUThe European RoHS 2011/65/EU directive requires the testing of 6 substances, including:●Lead (Pb)●Cadmium (Cd)●Mercury (Hg)●Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+)●Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs)●Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs)RoHS 2.0 (Expanded Version): 2011/65/EU & (EU) 2015/863In 2015, the EU issued an amended directive (EU) 2015/863 to revise RoHS 2.0 (2011/65/EU), which adds restrictions on four phthalates: Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), Benzylbutyl phthalate (BBP), and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP). Under this revision, electrical and electronic products must limit the use of these substances under stricter conditions. To support this amendment, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) first published testing methods for phthalates on March 28, 2017, and added methods for detecting hexavalent chromium in polymers and electronic products.
