Phthalates are a class of widely used plasticizers that modify or soften plastics and are commonly found in plastics and paints. This substance is widespread in cosmetics, children's toys, and food packaging. If its content exceeds the standard, it can cause significant harm to human health. Phthalates act similarly to estrogen in the human body and animals, interfering with the endocrine system. They can reduce the semen volume and sperm count in men, lower sperm motility, cause abnormal sperm morphology, and in severe cases, lead to testicular cancer, making them the "prime culprit" for male reproductive problems. In cosmetics, nail polish has the highest phthalate content, and many aromatic components of cosmetics also contain this substance. This substance in cosmetics can enter the body through the respiratory system and skin of women. Excessive use can increase the risk of breast cancer in women and also harm the reproductive system of male infants they may give birth to in the future.
