EU CE Certification

The CE certification mark is not issued by any official authority, certification body, or testing laboratory. Instead, the manufacturer or its agent should produce and affix it independently according to one (or a combination) of the eight models mentioned above.

For some products specified by EU official regulations, they can only be affixed with the CE mark after obtaining a CE certificate with a notified number issued by an EU official institution (notified body).

The manufacturer or its agent, or the importer in an EU member state must be responsible for the correctness of the CE certification mark.

The recipients of the CE certification mark are the national regulatory authorities of EU member states responsible for implementing market product safety control, not customers. When a product has been affixed with the CE certification mark, the authorities responsible for sales safety supervision in member states should assume that it meets the main requirements of the directives and can circulate freely in the EU market.
