"China RoHS Certification", also known as "Nationally Promoted RoHS Certification", refers to the voluntary certification promoted by the state for the pollution control of electronic information products.
On February 28, 2006, the "Administrative Measures for the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products" (hereinafter referred to as the "Administrative Measures") was officially promulgated and came into effect on March 1, 2007. The "Administrative Measures" determined that the control of six toxic and harmful substances, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in electronic information products, would adopt a catalog - management approach to gradually promote the prohibition or restriction of their use. To support the effective implementation of the relevant work in the "Administrative Measures", the "Implementation Opinions on the Voluntary Certification for the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products Nationally Promoted" and the "Implementation Rules for the Voluntary Certification for the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products Nationally Promoted" were successively issued. The "Implementation Rules" clearly stipulated the standards and technical specifications for certification.
