Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs for short) refer to aromatic hydrocarbons containing two or more benzene rings. They mainly have two combination methods. One is the non - fused - ring type, which includes biphenyl and polyphenyls, as well as polybenzene - substituted alkanes. The other is the fused - ring type, where two carbon atoms are shared by two benzene rings.
